I'm no longer using my domain name, can I cancel my registration?
  Question

I'm no longer using my domain name, can I cancel my registration?

  Answer

If you no longer want your domain name or service, you can:

  • Simply allow your registration term to expire. Make sure you have disabled SafeRenew™, our automatic renewal service, for the services you want to cancel. You can check the SafeRenew™ status of services by signing into your Account Manager and clicking the SafeRenew link.

  • If you wish to completely delete your domain name*, after it's been registered for 5 days or more, please follow the steps below. The removal of the domain name terminates all access and rights to the domain name and all Register.com services associated with the domain name. If you still wish to remove your domain name, please send us:
    • A notarized letter signed by the Registrant requesting us to delete your domain name(s) from your account.
    • The notarized letter must include the domain name(s) to be deleted and the Registrant current contact information.
    • If the Registrant is a company, we must obtain a request to delete the domain name on a notarized company letterhead signed by an official signatory of that company.
    • *At this time, only .com, .net, .org, .biz, .info, .name and .us domain names can be deleted from the registry.

Once you have these items, please fax to:
