What is an authorization code and where can I find it?

An authorization code is a unique code assigned by Registrars to .com, .net, .biz, .us, .info, .name or .org domain names at the time of registration. You need the authorization code to transfer a .com, .net, .biz, .org, .info, .name or .us domain name to another Registrar.
